As one of relatively few Hmong LICSW’s in Minnesota, Phia Xiong, HH’s Founder and CEO, has more than 20 years of clinical and leadership experience, and over the past 15 years he has built a rapidly growing mission-focused organization that employs more than 120 diverse staff.  Phia Xiong has extensive experience in assisting people with mental illness and substance use disorder (SUD) live successfully in the community of their choice.  As an experienced clinician, Phia has administered psychotherapy in multicultural settings with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Therapy, and has supervised Adult Protection personnel in administering VA/DD services.  Phia teaches at Metropolitan State University in the Social Work Program, and also has substantial expertise in interagency collaboration, team facilitation and development, conflict resolution, and promoting culturally appropriate therapeutic relationships.
